After the lifting of sanctions, Iran became a member of IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) and this is a significant opportunity to attract more investors and investment, the head of the Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran said.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- Stating that Iran is currently an observer member of IOSCO, Shapour Mohammadi added: During the next 5 or 6 months, Iran will become a regular member the organization.
IOSCO is an institution that most countries' securities commissions are its members, he noted.
Membership in this organization is a very important achievement for foreign investors, because it has regulations for member states that transactions in these countries are done in a fair, transparent and efficient way with minimal costs, Mohammadi stressed.
IOSCO membership connects the Iranian capital market to international capital markets; so we can have foreign investors or other financial instruments such as derivatives and options in futures contracts, he continued.
