First meeting of Foreign Investment Board in 12th government

The first meeting of the Foreign Investment Board in the 12th government was held with the presence of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and the members of the Investment Board at the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI).
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- In his speech about the importance of improving the status of foreign investment, Massoud Karbassian said attracting foreign investment is one of the main programs of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.

Pointing to the free zones and the capacity of these regions to attract foreign investment, he called on the OIETAI to increase its efforts to attract foreign investment in free zones.

Moreover, the minister called for the use of human capital and Iranians living abroad, promotion of economic diplomacy, the use of foreign securities instruments in attracting foreign financial resources, active cooperation between the OIETAI and the Chamber of Commerce, and interaction with the private sector.

Mohammad Khazaei, Head of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI), also gave a report on the status of operations and activities of the Foreign Investment Board and the OIETAI.

He pointed to the more than $18 billion foreign investment from the beginning of the 11th government to August 2017, emphasizing the achievement of the goals set in the Sixth Development Plan and the economic growth of 8 percent.

Considering the unprecedented presence of the Minister in the meetings of the Foreign Investment Board over the past years, the presence of Karbassian is of particular importance and will certainly be effective in attracting the attention and confidence of foreign investors for more presence in the country.
