In the latest report published by the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO) of the World Customs Organization, Irans customs were ranked first in the discovery of a variety of drugs and second in the fight against violations of customs regulations and smuggling of goods.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- The Iranian customs have had the best performance compared to other customs in the struggle and discovery of various traditional and industrial drugs, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to the RILO report, Iran's customs have the largest number and volume of drug discovery with 171 cases.
In the area of drug discovery, the Iranian customs have discovered the largest amount of discoveries in cannabis with 90 cases, and have recorded a new record among other countries in terms of detecting cannabis and cannabis seeds, the report says.
The Regional Intelligence Liaison Office of the World Customs Organization has assessed the customs function in the area of detection of violations of customs regulations and the fight against smuggling of other goods, which ranked Iran second after Japan.
This assessment includes the latest ways of smuggling and transit routes for drugs and precursors, fuel, extinct species, environmental crime, and discovery of NPS, drugs, counterfeit goods, and other drugs.
RILO supports its WCO Member administrations by providing them operational support, designing and implementing target-oriented intelligence analysis projects and regional intelligence-led operations, facilitating mutual administrative assistance and promoting and maintaining regional co-operation with other law enforcement agencies and organizations.
