Heads of Customs of Iran and Azerbaijan agreed on new customs facilities with the aim of facilitating trade and departure of passengers.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- At a joint meeting between the heads of customs of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, various issues such as insurance and guarantee of temporary entry of vehicles from Azerbaijan were discussed.
Foroud Asgari, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, and Safar Mehdiyev, the head of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Republic, emphasized the need to resolve trade barriers and facilitate trade between the two countries. Negotiations also focused on solving electronic data exchange issues and facilitating customs formalities by obtaining clearing information from both countries.
At the meeting, the two sides also reviewed the existing problems and issues with the aim of expanding cooperation and increasing interactions between the two countries' customs.
Moreover, Iran and Azerbaijan discussed the exchange of scanned images of transit cargo. The joint meeting of the heads of Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Jolfa.
